Time of Use is a voluntary plan for Oregon customers where participants pay two different prices for electricity depending on what time of day it’s used: Peak time is the most expensive. Off-Peak is least expensive. Prices are higher in the summer months (June-September) and lower in the non-summer months (October-May).
The Time of Use periods for this plan are:
Summer (June-September)
- On-Peak: 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, except holidays
- Off-Peak: 11 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and all hours Sunday and holidays
Non-Summer (October-May)
- Peak: 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, except holidays
- Off-Peak: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and all hours Sunday and holidays
It is important to identify how much energy you are currently using and when you are using it. If your bill is less than $100 dollars a month, the Standard Residential plan may be your best option. If you can align your energy usage with lower cost periods, the Time of Use plan may be your best option. To see an estimate of your bill under the Time Of Use plan, log in to My Account or register to become a My Account user and click on “Compare Your Bills” then “Compare Rates.” See Schedule 5 for Time of Use pricing.
